The NBA Finals are shaping up to be one for the books. Right now, there are four teams in the running. LeBron and the Cavs are looking to make it back for the fourth straight year. And James Harden and Chris Paul are hoping to lead the Rockets past Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. As of today, the Rockets are up 3-2 and so are the Celtics.
The matchup between the Celtics and the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals could have been better. If Kyrie Irving, who was traded from the Celtics this season, was there. Unless Boston or Golden State is able to turn things around it won’t be good. It looks like we’ll be having the Celtics and the Rockets in the NBA Finals. Now that Verizon is no longer selling data.
The Finals Air on ABC
If you don’t have TNT or ESPN you won’t see much. You might feel disappointed with how little of the NBA playoffs you will be able to watch. The good news for these people is that when the Finals are happening they’ll be taking place on ABC. This way anyone with a TV and any time of phone can watch it. My friend is watching it on his iPhone. Take a break from your cell phone spy app to watch the game.
Whoever ends up being in the Finals, it looks like the matchups are going to be great. The one story that would be extremely interesting is if the Celtics are able to knock off the Cavaliers. Then make it to the Finals for the first time since they had the “Big Three” of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen. So far, the Western Conference Finals have lived up to the hype, with the last two games going down to the wire.
Underwhelming So Far
So far, the NBA playoffs have been far from exciting. I think many fans would agree that this is downright underwhelming. Most of the rounds hardly featured any close games, and many of the games were blowouts. The Finals of each conference have been fun to watch. However, as is so often the case, I fear that these games, particularly the Western Conference Finals, will be the most exciting games of the playoffs this year.
LeBron and the Finals
If LeBron is eliminated against the Celtics, it will be the first time since 2010 that King James hasn’t been in the NBA’s championship series. During that year, there was no Instagram, and Peyton Manning and the Colts lost to the Saints in the Super Bowl. It was that long ago. LeBron can’t make it to the Finals forever, but if he doesn’t make this year it will definitely hurt the ratings. Of course, maybe more people will be interested in watching the Finals if LeBron is not playing. But we’ll see.
